Hot Rod Rules
General Rules

All drivers must be registered by posting in the driver registration thread requesting a number. Numbers will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

To race in the league you must have rFactor installed with the latest version of the UK National Hotrod mod, the most recent skin pack and the tracks listed in the schedule. You should book in for each meeting using the bookin in tool on the portal (once you register on the forum for the Hot Rods your name will appear shortly afterwards)

During a meeting your name in the server (game profile name) must be, your registered name, followed by your number (I.E Hamster97) - This is important and must not be changed through the season other wise you WILL be excluded from points scoring.

This league is designed to be fun and fair, you are expected to treat all other drivers with respect. Abusing or swearing at other drivers will not be tolerated and you will be banned. Hotrods is a non-contact sport so all contact is banned. We do accept there will be running an nudging from time to time but the use of contact to pass another car is not acceptable.

Drivers must submit a skin prior to their third meeting. For the first 2 meetings they are permitted to run a novice skin. Skins should be sent as a ZIP or RAR file stating, driver number and name. Only one skin is permitted with the roof colour being the same as the car body colour (no coloured roof grades are run in Hot Rod racing) eg: 20Chris.zip

Skins are to be of a high standard and in a professional manner as in real life. Your racing number must appear on both sides of the car. Preferably, these should be in large, American-style numbers on a contrasting background. If we do not think the skin is up to standard we will give our recommendations and you will have to re-submit with the relevent changes.

Winners of the following championships may run the following colours on there roof.

World Final - Gold
World Series Points Champion - Silver
National Champion - Two Silver stripes
Scottish Champion - St. Andrew's Cross
European Champion - Red/Yellow Checks
British Champion - Black/White Checks

On Track Behaviour

- Drivers must drive in the correct direction(clockwise) at all times.
- In car mirrors or Virtual mirrors must be used.
- DO NOT leave the server during a race as this will cause warp.
- No talking once the race has started, and until ALL drivers have crossed the finishing line.
- No use of the infield at any time, using the infield during a race will be classed as cutting.
- Wallriding will result in exclusion, as will driving for a prolong period with a heavily damaged car.
- If you are out of the race you should pull well offline. If you are stranded in a dangerous position, ie down the straight, consider escaping to the monitor screen
- STRICTLY NO CONTACT. Any contact may be deemed deliberate (after review) and could result in places docked or exclusion from the race. If you do make slight contact and pass, let the car re-pass you.
- When rejoining you will wait for oncoming cars before reversing or pulling back onto the racing line. You will not pull straight back onto the racetrack if cars are coming.
- Blue flags must be obeyed and no deliberate blocking or cutting up is allowed. If a lapping car is passing, you must either stay on one line or move over and let them passed on the inside.
- Individual drivers found to be warping with a bad connection, will get 1 warning and if they are unable to correct it will be banned from the rest of the meeting.
- Look out for yellow flag signals and ease off from full power so you can take avasive action for any stranded vehicles on the racing line.

Racing Two-Wide

- If you are racing two wide or more, you must stay in one lane including corners and give room to the other driver(s).
- If you are being lapped you should hold either an outside line or an inside line and let the lead cars through cleanly.
- When being overtaken you should not close the door when the car passing is up to, or past the drivers door pillar.
- Drivers overtaking should back out of the move, if the car ahead reaches the corner and takes their normal line BEFORE you reach there drivers door pillar.
- If you have made an outside pass you should not move into the other drivers lane until you are FULLY passed them.
- Leaning on another driver, on the bend, or down the straights may result in penalty or exclusion from the race.

Complaints

Any driver who is lodging a complaint must do so within 2 days stating the race and replay time of the event, and a brief description of the incident. This can be done by sending a PM to one of the admin team. The admin team at their discretion may look at incidents that are not reported, if there are exceptional circumstances.

The league will operate a penalty point system. When a driver reaches 5 points they will receive a 1 week ban. For every two points gained after this they will receive an additional 1 week ban(IE 7 points 2 week ban, 9 points 3 week ban.). Offences will not carry a standard penalty, each incident will be judged individually. You will be informed of any penalties by PM and have 48 hours to appeal before the results are posted on the forum.

Any driver booking in and then not attending without prior notification will receive a Messer strike. Drivers receiving 3 Messer strikes will receive a 1 meeting ban, and a 1 meeting ban for each Messer strike after that.

Meeting Information

Meetings will take place on Saturday evenings starting at 9:00. All drivers will get at least 3 heats (25 laps), and a final (35 laps). If there are more than 22 cars booked in then each driver will only get two heats with the top 20 points scores qualifying for the Final. Any tied points will be decided by the highest finishing position of the drivers in any of their heats, if there is still a tie it will be decided on highest national points avg. Drivers are required to be in the server, or mirc for 8:50

Normal Race Start Procedure

Grids for heats will be organised by an administrator. You will drive steadily into your starting position niormally leaving at least a one car gap. Warmup laps may be called. The start will be a clutch start and will be called in 3 stages, "Anyone not ready", "Flag up" and "GO GO GO". The grid for the Final will be formed using the points scored in the heats with the highest scorer on pole.

Points

Races will be scored as follows:

Heats 20,18,16,14,12,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1
Final 40,36,32,28,24,18,16,14,12,10,8,6,4,2

Championship Rounds

World Championship

Every non-Championship meeting will be a World Qualifier and World Series Points round. There will be XX World Series qualifying rounds. The total scores from these rounds will form the 24 qualifiers for the World Final meeting held at Ipswich. Any drivers dropping out will be replaced by points scoring reserves at the rear of the grid to form a full grid. The qualifiers will be split into groups of four cars. The lowest points scoring group will then run 4 laps qualifying together to determine their position within the group. Each group will take turns to do this, with the final group being the leading four World Series Points scorers. This leading group will be the first group for the World Final grid. (So the fastest overall driver of the groups will NOT get pole position) There will be 5 warmup laps, followed by lining up on the grid and two high speed closed grid 40mph rolling lap. Once the lead inside car has exited turn 4 "GO GO GO" will be called to commence the race. The race will be over 75 laps and subject to stewards enquiry if any contact has taken place for position between the lead cars.

The World Final race will not carry any World Series Points but the races following (2 heats and a final) will carry double and be classed as the final round of the Points Series.
