Introduction
Welcome to the home of The Sim-Stox Online Racing League. The Original and Best rFactor F1 Stockcar league. Sim-Stox is now in its fourth full season, having been founded in 2007. ISI's rFactor Racing Simulator is the base game used along with UKSOM's special add-ons. The league primarally races BriSCA F1 Stockcars, F2 Stockcars, Stock Saloon Cars, Ministox and Bangers. Sim-Stox 2010 membership fee is just £6 which goes towards some of the server costs, although any extra donations or sponsorships, prices, etc, to our running costs or to race winners are greatfully received.

Below is brief details of the classes appearing in 2010:

BriSCA F1 Stockcars

The Kings of the Ovals! These cars are powered by Unlimited Chevrolet, Dodge or Buick V8 engines, with a hefty power output of approx 600-850bhp. They are hand built chassis, constructed from steel box and tube sections and weigh 1350kgs. They race on either Tarmac or Shale surfaces and can reach speeds of close to 100mph on a ¼ mile tarmac oval.

Drivers take part in heats of 16 laps, with a 20 lap Feature Final, followed by the 'Grand National' last race. F1 Sim-Stox meetings are on Sunday night's at 8:30pm. In September 2008 we ran our second World Final meeting with 40 drivers in attendance, including 29 from the UK, 7 from Holland and 4 from New Zealand, making it a truely World Class event. Races contain 16-24 drivers depending on the track.

BriSCA F2 Stockcars

Formula 2 Stockcars are a smaller variety of its big brother. They have a steel space-framed chassis and they weigh only 650 kgs. They are generally fitted with a 2.0 litre SOHC Ford Pinto engine, which are race tuned to approximatley 175bhp, making them extremely fast and agile machines with laptimes similar , if not faster than, the much more powerful F1 Stockcars. The main race nights are Wednesday evenings 8:30pm UK

NHRPA National Hot Rods

Like The F1's and F2's this is another mod created by the guys at UKSOM. Based on the UK & Ireland National Hotrod Series. The cars have a large power to weight ratio weighing just 700 kilos and are powered by highly refined 2.0 litre 16 valve engine's with approx 260bhp, rear wheel drive,3-speed, space framed and based on hot-hatches and small modern sports coupe's.

While this is a strictly non-contact formula, some amount of rubbing inevitably takes place around a small oval. The racing is fast and furious, but as in real-life, it can be sometimes very tricky to overtake, so quite a few spectacular brave outside passes can occur, with both drivers holding their line either on the inside or outside. This is the thing that makes Hot Rod racing so spectacular to watch.

Saloon Stock Cars

Heavily armoured cars, in which Sierras, Sapphires and Mondeos are universally regarded as the first choice of donor car. All cars powered by 2.0 litre SOHC Ford Pinto engines. Occasionally controversial, very hard hitting contact racing - not for the feint hearted - as cars hit, spin and sometimes roll. They race in a clockwise direction.

Saloon Stock Cars are very popular in Scotland and Southern England and have a large hardcore group of fans. Sim-Stox Saloon racing takes place on Tuesday's at 8:30pm

National Ministox

Thursday nights are for National Ministox Racing. These are fully armoured British Leyland Shelled Mini's made of of steel box section and lightweight aluminium or fibreglass panelling, along with a mildy tuned 1000cc engine giving over 60 horsepower and raced in real life by 10-15 year olds.

They are relatively low powered front-wheel driven cars. A good driving technique, as well as skill to avoid being taken out, is the name of the game to winning races. Drivers are graded according to their overall points and recent performances.

Bangers & Yugos

Monday evenings are when the Banger drivers turn up for their wrecking havoc. These race in a clockwise directions like the Saloon Stock cars and often have special events such as Team Races, Figure of 8 races and Demolition Derbys. The current Bangers are Volvo's but more classes will be created during 2010. Bangers are based on old scrap cars and mildy prepared for driver safety, so expect bad handling and poor brakes from the cars! The idea of the racing is to prevent the opposition from winning by spinning them or pushing them on at the bends to slow and damage their car, or just trying to win yourself!

NZ Stockcars

NZ Superstocks and NZ Stockcars are often one of the formula run in the off season period between December and March. Weighing in at approx 1500kg with powerful highly modified V8 engines up to 248 cubic inches generating upto 600bhp, contact between cars can be rugged and is intended as part of the class. Superstocks are the heavy hitting brigade when it comes to the full-contact classes.

They are run as Championship meetings and also as Team racing. Sideswiping, Pinning against the wall and Heavy contact is all encouraged!
