MEETING PREVIEW:

It’s around that time of the year again when we look at the 2012 season and what it has given so far in 2012. We are entering round 9 this Sunday which means 8 rounds have been completed. A must say honestly myself 2012 so far has been a very successful season and one of the closest we have ever had here in Sim-Stox, Not one man is standing out, There is a group of drivers that are performing well and that brings good racing which is good to see on track. Our meeting numbers have been positive again which is nice to see in what is the most popular form of Stockcar Racing in the United Kingdom so I thank you for your support.

Its Ipswich on Sunday, One of the biggest ovals we race at here in the F1 Stockcars and it always does prove to be a popular venue but at the same time very tricky, it isn’t banked like the likes of Hednesford and Baarlo which is what makes it so unique. Booking in for this week at the Ipswich oval is Jack Morgan 249 who goes from the Super Star grade and is currently the only Super Star booked in to attend this event. Jack was the final winner at the Sexbierum oval last week and will be looking to maybe pinch another on Sunday at Ipswich. This meeting does have a bit of history behind it with us always running an Ipswich meeting around the middle of May and it is no different this year. There is plenty of us on the booking list that raced at this meeting last year and are booked and racing it again this year here in 2012. Samuel Powell 246 is one of them, The only red top booked in. Juergen Ecken D6 is another driver that always likes to appear at Ipswich and did race this fixture last season.

A very strong list of blue graders are booked in, I don’t think I have ever seen a list of blue graders that if you put them all in 1 race who would come out on top? It is so evenly spaced out there! The Blue Graders will certainly be on a mission on Sunday. Gary Bailey 198 is one of them, Liam Powell 380 is another who is certainly racking in the points from the blue grade. Phil Trendell, a promoter to the blue grade at the start of the season and he has stayed there which is showing good consistent form for the 460 Tom Harris Motor sport built car. Sam Brigg started off the season well and a drop to blue grade will see him as a strong contender here at Ipswich which is a track I believe Sam goes the best at!

The Josh Hampson 197 car is up to scratch at the moment, Well certainly on shale as he took a win last week. Josh I’m sure will have his car set up right on the hard stuff to! Some promising new talent is coming through the formula aswell, This being Leighton Holroyd in 40, He has learnt some good racing standards over the last few weeks and seems to be getting better every week we race. Carl Nicholls 482 hasn’t been seen on the F1 Scene for a few weeks but he will be welcomed back on Sunday and is booked in to take to the action.

BOOKING LIST:

Booking list correct at 10:00am, May 18th

Brisca F1 Stockcars (16 Cars)

D6 – Juergen Ecken
12 – Craig Charles
40 – Leighton Holroyd
87 – Sam Brigg
98 – Ian Bailey
147 – Andrew Wigzell
H191 – Fransie Burhenne
197 – Josh Hampson
198 – Gary Bailey
246 – Samuel Powell
249 – Jack Morgan
277 – David Southwell
380 – Liam Powell
460 – Phil Trendell
482 – Carl Nicholls
561 – Stephen Murphy

This is your first and your last time you can race at the Barford Venue before the world final is staged in September, This is a perfect chance tonight to get some track time around the venue and experience what racing is like round there. Bookings are expected to be high this evening due to this and I’m sure we will see who the favourite could be come September after tonight’s show.

You can’t really get better than tonight! A full grid of the super fast F2 Stockcars flying round the Barford Raceway, Especially here in 2012 where the action from this formula has been particularly close at every meeting!

98 Ian Bailey and 323 Stuart Madcowie are locked in combat at the top of the points with fellow superstar driver 391 Rob Whalley not far behind, Pete Colvin NI904 will be looking to bounce back at this Tarmac Venue after a slightly low points scoring session last week at Sheffield. Gary Bailey 198 will also be hoping to stay on form at one of his favourite venues as it was Gary that took the feature win last time out here back in 2011.

Final Winner last week at Sheffield, Samuel Powell 246 will be trying his best to repeat that performance on the hard stuff instead of the loose stuff. Samuel does go back to Blue grade thought for tonight’s proceedings. Chris Mighty 371 has took a dip in form recently but this seems to be coming back on track after a race win last week, Chris will be looking to continue his boost in form this week.

Jordan Salmon 566 and Martin Bentley 23 are both enjoying a great 2012 season so far on both Shale and Tarmac and both of these drivers will lead the blue grade entry for this meeting. A big turnout is expected tonight for both events.

The superstar grade is yet again showing some strong entries for the two events this evening and all enjoy having a good race with one and other. The yellow grade is as strong as ever and the racing between these guys is so close and competitive, you never quite know what to expect! One of the yellow graders Fransie Burhenne will be hoping to avoid any on track incidents from his grade tonight after a DNF in last week’s Final.

David Hogarth 606 goes from white grade again for this meeting tonight and will be looking to take this as an advantage starting right at the front of the grid after a great meeting last week for him at Westworld coming away as the driver taking the most points.

Enjoy your night’s racing and don’t forget to book in advance for next week’s action right away at the 2012 World Final venue, Barford Raceway! This meeting is the perfect opportunity to get some pre-world final practice in come September.

BOOKING LIST:

Booking list correct at 1:00pm, May 8th

SHEFFIELD

F2 Stockcars (23 Cars)

3 – Steve Barsby
D6 – Juergen Ecken
23 – Martin Bentley
40 – Leighton Holroyd
47 – Raymond Henderson
48 – Ryan Morgan
79 – Ryan Sharp
98 – Ian Bailey
180 – Jamie Ward
H191 – Fransie Burhenne
197 – Josh Hampson
198 – Gary Bailey
246 – Samuel Powell
249 – Jack Morgan
263 – Dean McGill
305 – Jake Barsby
323 – Stuart Madcowie
371 – Chris Mighty
380 – Liam Powell
391 – Rob Whalley
566 – Jordan Salmon
606 – David Hogarth
NI904 – Pete Colvin

MILDENHALL

F2 Stockcars (22 Cars)

3 – Steve Barsby
23 – Martin Bentley
40 – Leighton Holroyd
47 – Raymond Henderson
48 – Ryan Morgan
79 – Ryan Sharp
98 – Ian Bailey
180 – Jamie Ward
H191 – Fransie Burhenne
198 – Gary Bailey
246 – Samuel Powell
249 – Jack Morgan
263 – Dean McGill
277 – David Southwell
305 – Jake Barsby
323 – Stuart Madcowie
371 – Chris Mighty
380 – Liam Powell
391 – Rob Whalley
482 – Carl Nicholls
566 – Jordan Salmon
606 – David Hogarth

BRISCA F2 STOCKCARS - INCARACE DOUBLE - HEDNESFORD AND NORTHAMPTON

MEETING PREVIEW:

This Coming Tuesday we see the 2012 Incarace Double Header event for the Brisca Formula 2 boys at 2 of the incarace finest venues, Hednesford and Northampton. The incarace double headers always seem to prove a popular one with Incarace hosting the best tarmac tracks in the country and most probably the most popular too! Hednesford Hills Raceway will kick start the evening with a 7:30pm start time but then it’s all roads to Northampton International Raceway, Home of the European Championship for a 9:00pm event.

There was again a superb turnout last week at Coventry with 26 cars in the pits are we are expecting more of the same, If not more with the amount of stuff we have up for grabs. A lot of said the F2 Stockcars is the mod to race in 2012 with the racing being at its very best with many good race to remember already in 2012 and we are only in April! Arena Essex springs to mind and will be remembered as a classic in 2012.

Stuart Madcowie 323 aims to be at both events on Tuesday Night. Stuart is still planning on investing in a Jet Wash at the time of writing, Whether he has got one will be unknown and will have to wait and see on Tuesday Night. 1 Championship behind him already this season, Ian Bailey 98 the Euromasters championship will be showing his title of for the first time on tarmac in the Midlands. Josh Hampson 197 is one driver I think has the potential to become one of the best F2 Stockcar Drivers out on track here in Sim-Stox. Josh has returned back on even better form and a great standard, It won’t be long till this man reaches those high grades.

A man on form at the moment seems to be Jordan Salmon in 566, The start of his 2012 season has been fairly good but there is a lot of others that will be starting this meeting that enjoy the Incarace venues. Raymond Henderson 47, Martin Bentley 23, Chris Mighty 371 and Ryan Morgan 48 could all have something to say around the two tracks. Not forgetting the solid yellow grade we have booked in, Pete Colvin NI904 is now cruising up the pace in these machines and is enjoying the racing in the F2 Stockcars. Phil Trendell is enjoying a much better season than last, Samuel Powell 246, A recent blue grader could shine from Yellow and of course Steve Barsby making the jump to yellow now in the F2s.

A race winner last week, Jack Morgan 249 is going from the red grade and will be hoping for some more good results in this double header. Carl Nicholls will be looking to continue his good form this year in 482 as will Craig Charles in number 12 who both join the ranks of blue grade.

BOOKING LIST:

Booking list correct at 5:00pm, April 23rd

HEDNESFORD

F2 Stockcars (23 Cars)

3 – Steve Barsby
12 – Craig Charles
23 – Martin Bentley
40 – Leighton Holroyd
47 – Raymond Henderson
48 – Ryan Morgan
79 – Ryan Sharp
98 – Ian Bailey
180 – Jamie Ward
197 – Josh Hampson
246 – Samuel Powell
249 – Jack Morgan
277 – David Southwell
H191 – Fransie Burhenne
323 – Stuart Madcowie
371 – Chris Mighty
380 – Liam Powell
391 – Rob Whalley
460 – Phil Trendell
482 – Carl Nicholls
566 – Jordan Salmon
NI904 – Pete Colvin
NI944 – Aaron Moody

NORTHAMPTON

F2 Stockcars (22 Cars)

3 – Steve Barsby
12 – Craig Charles
23 – Martin Bentley
40 – Leighton Holroyd
47 – Raymond Henderson
48 – Ryan Morgan
79 – Ryan Sharp
98 – Ian Bailey
180 – Jamie Ward
H191 – Fransie Burhenne
246 – Samuel Powell
249 – Jack Morgan
277 – David Southwell
323 – Stuart Madcowie
371 – Chris Mighty
380 – Liam Powell
391 – Rob Whalley
460 – Phil Trendell
482 – Carl Nicholls
566 – Jordan Salmon
NI904 – Pete Colvin
NI944 – Aaron Moody

Carl Nicholls will be looking to continue his good form this year in 482 as will Craig Charles in number 12 who both join the ranks of blue grade.

BOOKING LIST:

Booking list correct at 5:00pm, April 23rd

HEDNESFORD

F2 Stockcars (23 Cars)

3 – Steve Barsby
12 – Craig Charles
23 – Martin Bentley
40 – Leighton Holroyd
47 – Raymond Henderson
48 – Ryan Morgan
79 – Ryan Sharp
98 – Ian Bailey
180 – Jamie Ward
197 – Josh Hampson
246 – Samuel Powell
249 – Jack Morgan
277 – David Southwell
H191 – Fransie Burhenne
323 – Stuart Madcowie
371 – Chris Mighty
380 – Liam Powell
391 – Rob Whalley
460 – Phil Trendell
482 – Carl Nicholls
566 – Jordan Salmon
NI904 – Pete Colvin
NI944 – Aaron Moody

NORTHAMPTON

F2 Stockcars (22 Cars)

3 – Steve Barsby
12 – Craig Charles
23 – Martin Bentley
40 – Leighton Holroyd
47 – Raymond Henderson
48 – Ryan Morgan
79 – Ryan Sharp
98 – Ian Bailey
180 – Jamie Ward
H191 – Fransie Burhenne
246 – Samuel Powell
249 – Jack Morgan
277 – David Southwell
323 – Stuart Madcowie
371 – Chris Mighty
380 – Liam Powell
391 – Rob Whalley
460 – Phil Trendell
482 – Carl Nicholls
566 – Jordan Salmon
NI904 – Pete Colvin
NI944 – Aaron Moody

I have spent the past few days thinking and planning and I have now come up with something I am quite happy to run and something I for one am looking forward to and hope you will too! Here is what I have planned.

It’s an F1 Stockcars Team Meeting at Palmerston North in New Zealand using the F1 Stockcars Real Life Skin based mod. It will be the battle of Brisca’s finest! 4 Teams using the same skins, Team Frankie Wainman JNR 515, Team Paul Harrison 2, Team Andy Smith 1 and Team John Lund 53. Each team will be managed by a Team Captain which are yet to be Confirmed. We will be getting drivers to book in on this topic and creating one big list but the exciting thing is you won’t know which real life driver you will be racing for until Race Night where team captains will select the drivers they would like on their team that are booked in to race to even the teams out nicely.

FORMAT:

Here is a quick rundown of the format I am hoping to follow, This is provisional and may change but will give you a good idea on how the night will work.

RACE 1 – TEAM FRANKIE WAINMAN JNR 515 – VS – TEAM JOHN LUND 53 – 16 LAPS
RACE 2 – TEAM ANDY SMITH 1 – VS – TEAM PAUL HARRISON 2 – 16 LAPS
RACE 3 – TEAM ANDY SMITH 1 – VS – TEAM JOHN LUND 53 – 16 LAPS
RACE 4 – TEAM FRANKIE WAINMAN JNR 515 – VS – TEAM PAUL HARRISON 2 – 16 LAPS
RACE 6 – TEAM PAUL HARRISON 2 – VS – TEAM JOHN LUND 53 – 16 LAPS
RACE 7 – TEAM ANDY SMITH 1 – VS – TEAM FRANKIE WAINMAN JNR 515 – 16 LAPS
RACE 8 – SEMI FINAL 1 – 1ST VS 3RD – 16 LAPS
RACE 9 – SEMI FINAL 2 – 2ND VS 4TH – 16 LAPS
RACE 10 – RACE FOR 3RD – 16 LAPS
RACE 11 – TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL – 20 LAPS

POINTS:

Points for the qualification stages for the Semi-Finals will be scored as follows:

20 – 18 – 16 – 14 – 12 – 10 – 8 – 6 – 4 – 2

RULES:

This is designed to be a fun night but we have put some NZ Rules in place to keep the racing at a good standard.

- No grass cutting or wall riding (using wall to get around the corner, Grass cuts includes the Pole line 2 or more wheels)
- Turning right from pole or parking against the wall and attacking random cars as they pass by Slowing down and blocking is acceptable but lap after lap or every race is not.
- Drivers must leave the cars in race if they sustain serious damage and cannot continue.
- You must drive in the correct direction at all times

Come on lads.
